Garth HuntVerified customer
Great product, needed an extra pair of hands to put it up, but excellent quality and finish. Perfect size for the garden extras.
Mariette ParishVerified customer
Great company to deal with. Their response was very efficient. Totally recommend them! I am very happy with their product - great service, thank you.
Michael IskanderVerified customer
Everything was good from placing an order to delivery. But assembly instructions were so confusing and half of the instructions were missing. So I had to redo the shed few times and missed putting in few parts correctly. Please get assembly instructions clear so it's easy to assemble. Thanks.
Sukhwinder SinghVerified customer
Overall happy with finished shed but was frustrating for handyman to erect, actually took nearly 2 days to put up and he had to get someone else to help him so was quite costly for me.
Gwenda CombeVerified customer
Called before ordering to check the slab size and got a straight answer. Delivery landed when they said it would.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

The questions our team gets asked most. For anything else, call 1800 032 077 or read the full FAQ.

What exactly do I receive when I order a shed?
You receive a flat packed kit containing all wall and roof panels, framing, fixings and an assembly manual. Floor base frame kits are sold separately, so add one if you are not building on an existing concrete slab. Larger buildings arrive on multiple packs.
Do I need a concrete slab before delivery?
A level concrete slab is the best base and is required for larger workshops, garages and carports. For smaller garden sheds you can use a Spanbilt floor base frame kit on level, compacted ground or pavers. Whichever you choose, the base must be square and level before you start, since the panels will not pull into alignment on an uneven surface.
How long does delivery take and where do you ship?
We deliver Australia wide from our Crestmead factory in Brisbane. Metro deliveries are typically faster than regional. Some regional orders are sent to a local depot for collection, and larger kits need a trailer and a second person to load. See shipping and delivery for full details.
Can I put the shed up myself?
Most garden sheds are a two person job. Smaller units take a few hours, larger workshops and lockers can take a full day or more. You will need basic tools, a drill and a second pair of hands to hold panels while you fix them. Our assembly videos walk through each stage. For larger buildings we recommend a professional installer.
Do I need council approval?
It depends on your council, your site and the size of the building. Small garden sheds are often exempt, while workshops, garages and carports usually require approval. We supply engineering plans you can submit with your application, and engineering papers are available separately for carports. Check with your local council before you order.
Are your buildings rated for cyclonic areas?
Selected UBild Portal Plus workshops are available in cyclonic rated versions for northern Australia. Standard buildings are engineered for non-cyclonic wind regions. Wind region requirements vary by address, so check the rating on the product page and call us on 1800 032 077 if you are unsure which applies to your site.
What does the 15 year warranty cover?
Our buildings carry a 15 year structural warranty covering the steel structure against manufacturing defects, subject to correct assembly and site conditions. Coastal and industrial environments have specific conditions. Register your building after installation and read the full terms on the 15 year warranty page.

Steel buildings, made in Australia

Garden sheds

Our garden sheds cover everything from a slim locker beside the house to a walk-in gable roof building for mowers, tools and bikes. Flat, gable and skillion roof profiles are available in a wide range of footprints, with matching floor base frame kits so you can build on grass, pavers or a slab.

Carports

Spanbilt carports shelter cars, boats and caravans in single and double widths, with flat or gable roof options. Engineering papers are available separately for council submission, and every carport is engineered for Australian wind regions.

Storage sheds

Purpose built storage sheds handle the awkward jobs: bike storage that keeps frames out of the weather, and pool pump housing that hides equipment while allowing airflow. Compact footprints suit narrow side yards and courtyards.

Garages and workshops

Our garages and workshops use the Portal Plus system for clear internal spans and a proper working height. Cyclonic rated versions are available for northern Australia, and every building ships with engineering plans.

Lockers and utility

The Smartlocker range gives you a lockable roller door unit with a small footprint, ideal for shared driveways, units and anywhere you need secure storage without a full shed.

Wholesale and trade

Retailers and builders can order wholesale from the full Spanbilt range with trade pricing and factory direct freight. Call 1800 032 077 to talk through volume, lead times and stocking options.
